When I was still in Tulsa Oklahoma and contracting with Pixel Pros Media– I was tasked with building the website for the Tulsa Geoscience Center. It’s a non-profit focused on educating kids, mostly through arranged field trips and events (it’s not open for walk-ins). They needed something fun and friendly, with functional forms to get the tour process rolling.
For this project I “re-skinned” a high quality WordPress theme with new colors and typography. The most fun part of this project was creating custom artwork in the form of the page background images– including the clouds and the repeating layers of dirt (IT IS a geology museum). I also made the cartoon “explorer” and the call-to-action icons on the homepage.
The client took over the maintenance and upkeep of the website, so I’m not responsible for some things that have changed or broken… though I believe I built them a solid foundation, which they continue to use.
